Apparently they gave a piss poir apology too the HK drama too. They didn't directly address it but kept it vague enough

i know no one wants Diablo Immortal and their tone-deaf fucking announcement of it really poisoned that well... but honestly, I'd like to see how it plays, and how bad the monetization is. I'm not optimistic but I'm keeping my eye on it.
That's not an apology.
I keep thinking of the BP oil spill apology from South Park when I see that
Yeah, neither this nor the letter they posted a week after the incident was anything like an apology. They are not sorry for what they did, only how their playerbase reacted to it. Blizz scrambling to appease the remaining players with D4 and OW2 is honestly kind of funny since that's actually what a lot of threads and tweets from players and streamers said would need to happen to keep them around.
I may stop being mad at Blizzard by the time D4 comes out, in the far future. But I'm not holding my breath. Companies on the path to ruin don't tend to turn around and go back the way they came very often.
Depressingly accurate.
It's kinda glad why I never got into Blizzard games. Overwatch to me just felt like a sign things were going downhill

So were there really no big embarrassing protests or anything at blizzcon? I was really hoping for some juicy drama
There was a protest outside, but Blizz controlled the conversation inside. Two biggest moments that gamers consider embarrassing is Blizzard's non-apology to the Hong Kong incident and the Overwatch 2 announcement.
From what little I saw, there were protests and people were popping in with "Free Hong Kong" quips all throughout, but they just let it all go and didn't stop anything. I don't think they responded or addressed any of it, beyond the opening remark by the CEO.
Lame
Honestly I didn't expect or want anything to go down at Blizzcon, it's really not the right action to take. What Blizzard does has 0 impact on Hong Kong's situation and it's better for everyone to be chill and safe if possible.
The right action to take is to just stop giving Blizzard money. Stop buying their games, stop paying the subs.
But not many people are going to do that because they'd rather have fun than make a stand, and "my contribution doesn't matter anyway".

This is pretty much why I hated every second I worked in the video game industry.
