It sounded less like humor and more like bad advice. But if you're hitting amphetamines on the reg, modafinil is gonna be like a sugar pill.

As far as announcing I'm in medicine, I'd be shocked if 1% of my posts are about medicine. I don't post in BG med thread very often. I stay out of it for the most part in med related threads outside of policy. But bad med advice is bad med advice. I thought it was worth calling out.

Caffeine would be more effective than modafinil for focus. Adderall is the only way to go though.

I'd say there's something to be said about not worrying about how something is done as long as it is reasonably completed. Some folks need music in the background. Some need silence. Others need short breaks. Some work best grinding it all out in one shot. There's no real right or wrong, but I also wouldn't immediately jump to drugs unless you're finding yourself spacing out when driving or some other dangerous scenario. And sometimes you just need "you" time to recharge. Like, mine is just walking my dogs without bringing a phone with me. Not because I'm so incapable of not needing to be on the web every few minutes, but because I literally don't want people being able to get in contact with me unless they're right in front of me. Sometimes I'll meet people along the way who want to know more about them or maybe me, but most of the time it's the relative peace and quiet of small town life.

Yes. Most PCPs are comfortable managing it with existing diagnosis otherwise you need a psych eval.
