As much as I'm looking forward to this, I'm hard passing on Early Access. I get they want money asap (who wouldn't) but just not interested unless it turns out it's the full game and doesn't have any issues.

i've never gotten into an early access game before and it's gonna be a brutal year long cocktease but don't think i can resist the siren call. DOS II is one of the greatest games ever made and Baldur's Gate one of the greatest series.

I had taken a few days off for that. Fortunately my PTO is very flexible. So I'm still taking a couple days and then moved the remainder to the following week. If it gets moved again, oh well I guess. I know it's only EA, but I'm very much looking forward to it.

I love baldurs gate and larian but I generally avoid early access stuff. Only one in recent years I really fucked with was Dead Cells

I'm not OVERLY concerned just cause it's the first act and there will be so much stuff changing. You can't select the origin characters for one. It'll give people a chance to do really messed up stuff they might not at full release. I want to really learn the systems this way when it does come out I know what the hell I'm doing. I didn't understand BG1/2 for years, and there's still stuff about it I won't pretend to get.

Opinions are everywhere on it with media, but mostly positive. The people who are saying not so great stuff about it, what did you expect? It's a year+ out. There's gonna be jank. There's gonna be incomplete assets. DoS2 was significantly improved because of EA and I expect this to be the same.
