You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

    Probably true.

[edit] I'd like to take a moment to bitch about what you people (YES ALL YOU PEOPLE) have done to car colors fyi. We have scratched off white, gray, and black from all vehicles in this house to row row fight the powah against turning the US into a future where everything looks the same.

How do you like your Leaf? What has been the pros/cons to going all electric since you kinda live by us. Honestly, if it were my car, that's the one I'd go with. I like the look of it a lot.

At your previous post: Even with the Tesla having a higher resale pricetag, it's still a huge lose to buy one and sell it in a couple years if it doesn't work out for us. That's why I'd still like him to lease something else to test an electric before just buying one.
I think Tesla does test drives now? At least some locations do?

The issue is whether the day-to-day driving is a nonissue or if it makes more sense for us to have a hybrid instead.

Since you will be able to charge at home, it's going to be a complete nonissue for you to use it as a daily driver. Even with my 86 mile range LEAF it was rarely an issue (until I moved to La Crescenta, now it's often an issue because of the elevation change but you'll have triple the range to play with).

Just think about how often you actually drive 200+ miles in a single day. Very rarely if you're like me, and for those trips you can either hit one of a multitude of superchargers or just take your gas vehicle. Easy as pie.

A few people have mentioned the money they save on maintenance costs by going electric.

Have been leasing at least one car for the last 8 years, only cost is $20 yearly oil change, if that.

    Really overestimating maintenance costs.

Yeah if you just lease and don't do manufacturer-recommended maintenance other than oil changes it won't cost much at all.

If you lease everything else is free including oil changes for the most part. Most leases will have 0 maintenance cost.

Also Ksan regarding resale, within 50 miles of here the cheapest used Model 3 for sale is this one: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...6984/overview/

    It's a 2017, 14k miles, for $44k.

You could buy a new Model 3 Long Range with Grey paint exactly like this one (but with a couple improvements since the 2017 version) for $53,600 after delivery charges, and then get the $3750 fed/$2500 state rebates bringing it down to $47,350.

$3350 in "depreciation" for the cheapest one available in our area for two years of use. They really don't depreciate much compared to most cars. You see the same thing with the much more expensive Model S and X - minuscule depreciation compared to comparably-priced luxury sedans/SUVs.

    Understood. It's definitely not though.

Everyone here should go check out Leasehackr, while Tesla's lease poorly there's some good information on leasing them there especially the $90k+ models. Site provides good info on getting a $60k car for like 275 a month.

Does look like Leasehackr comes up with occasional screaming deals, but my god that site has 5 articles published in 2019 in total. It's already June!

Been stealing leases for the last 4 years. Currently have a decked out 2017 Silverado that I give back in November of this year, $250 a month. No money down; 2 year 10k miles. Looking to see what else I can get and will look into that website.

What's insurance like on the leases? The same?

I enjoy the times in my life when my car is paid off and I dont have a note to worry about for a bit lol.

It's the same. Essentially just make sure it's high enough coverage to cover the cost of your car.

I pay $50 a month for my truck through Progressive. I did the 4 month snapshot plugin pain in the ass device and got an A+ driving like grandma for the best rate possible. I have 250k/500k with 1k deductible.

How the fuck are you paying $50 a month? What state is this in? My insurance is $190, but I'm calling around this week to hopefully get it under 150. The gf pays 100 and we thought that was amazing.

For one car, a new 2018 Forester, that we financed I was paying about $89/month when packaged with my home owner's. With the second car, a 2019 Jetta lease, it went up to $144/month I believe.

I live in NY, about 40 miles north of NYC.

For (roughly, MA has some weird required parts of insurance) the same coverage my insurance on my car dropped like 25 bucks a month moving from MA to WA.

I pay 90 a month combined on car and renters insurance, dunno the specific split tho cause I'm too lazy to look it up
