game is ready for pre-download
97 right now on metacritic with 43 reviews, seems ok I guess
95 on PC with 35.
Sounds like garbage

got a few days off starting tomorrow, havent been this excited for a game in a while and i'm not even a huge souls guy. played demons souls remaster, dark souls 3, and got introduced to the genre by nioh 2 so i'm pretty new to the scene but really enjoy the atmosphere of the games most of all
For the record I give CDPR a mulligan since I played on PC, but still
On sick leave for 5 days. This means I pop this baby up right at midnight!
Not a big fan of pre-ordering digital games but I went ahead and bought it for the sake of pre-downloading. I don't think I'll regret!
yeah i was planning to grab the disc on my lunch break tomorrow, but there's gonna be a snowstorm so i wound up going digital. very excited. half my department is on vacation this week though so i couldn't book the day off
Apparently xbox users can just change region to NZ and play right now, PSN users need to make a NZ account, buy on it and can play also ( obv you wont show achievements on original account/friendlists stuff etc ).
PC waiting another 8hrs ish.
I don't play from software games. I think I killed the first boss of bloodborne. I'm not a console player so I sold it and kind of regret it, I'd like it for pc eventually. I think I got through the first boss of dark souls but didn't play much after that because I got lost. I have sekiro But really don't find any time to play it and haven't gotten to the first boss. Games where you die to something in one hit and have to reclear an entire area really aren't my style.
18% off, the reviews, the ratings, the open world. I kind of want to give this a try.
The games have gotten easier over time as is.
Way more checkpoints/camp fires so less running back, and with Sekiro they were also putting them right outside the boss rooms.
I got to sit down and play sekiro then, and with this discount it's pretty hard to pass this up since it won't be discounted again for a while.
Does that mean the dark souls 4 is easier? And I should check that out?
there is a difference between punishing and challenging. a lot of the earlier death runs were time consuming but basically effortless, u were always going to get back to the boss it was just a matter of time. a couple ike Sir Allonne's death run were legitimately challenging in themselves. and then in Demon's ofc you were running the entire damn level.
but as someone who replayed the entire series recently the boss fights have gotten immeasurably more difficult. DS3's hardest bosses shit all over anyone from 1 or 2, and Demon's are extremely rudimentary. Bloodborne's DLC bosses also stand out against the others.
personally love the balance they've struck. actual fights harder than ever while there's less artificial clutter and difficulty by way of time consumption
i personally thought nioh 2's bosses were harder than most dark souls bosses i fought but im sure that's cuz nioh popped my cherry. anyways, this is the first midnight launch i'm gonna play in a good long while, can't wait. i've seen some reviews saying they spent like 30 hours just exploring the first area which is...terrifying because it sounds like something i might do
