I'd probably assume right around the launch of the consoles.
Related, Microsoft announced they're taking Gamepass for PC out of beta and the price is going up.
The page has been updated to includes the SX & SS versions along with confirming the leaked monthly prices.
Spoiler: show
Such a dumb decision to delay the pre-order. This was their chance with the hype and open wallets, before Sony's announcement.
Wario64 posted a couple new images, the retail box and the "bottom" of the console (previously hadn't been seen in any promo).
Honestly, I can easily afford the $500 outright. I don't need a series X cause I have a high spec PC. BUT. At 0% APR and it having game pass ultimate included for the 2 years, I might just do that.
Did I mess this up? Its $20 cheaper to do the finance plan for a series x + 2 years of game pass than it is to buy it retail?

2 years of Game Pass Ultimate would be $360 (15x24 months), so 660 or 860 adding the price of a console. And the finance plans are $600 and $840 respectively.
You're in theory saving a small amount of money going for the finance plan if you were for sure going to keep game pass for the whole 2 years
I assume the finance plans are only available directly through MS? If so, they are probably making more money because they are cutting out the middle man.
Yup. Even if they aren't hitting Sony numbers in terms of sales, between this and Game Pass they are making a truck load of money. According to the Q3 earnings call they have 10 million subscribers.
I mean, 25/month for a next gen consoke and youre locked into digital purchases from MS only? Kinda a no brainer business decision on their end.

In the US it's thru Microsoft or other retailers (Gamestop/Best Buy/Target/Walmart)
Does Target/BestBuy hand you a system right then and there? Does MS just pay them in the event that you pay 1 payment then skip town? Makes no sense because that is going to happen left and right in a lot of places.
From the website it sounds like no matter where you buy it the credit line is all done thru the same bank so it'd probably be up to them to get the money
These go thru credit lines. Youre not gonna have a minor entering into this contract. Its no different than a cell phone plan, and if you break the contract they send a final bill for the outstanding amount/send you to collections for your xbox lol

There is certainly some difference because the phone company will just turn off your service. The Xbox can (?) still be played, though probably only offline? I dunno, but it is interesting.
