    Picked this up, immediately jumped back into Triple Triad. Man, I must have gotten really bad at this game as I got older. I don't remember Triple Triad being this hard, lol. I'm effectively going something like 1/20 on wins against the kid running the circle in Balamb Garden, and the dude sitting on the bench in the next frame. I gotta figure out where I'm going wrong. Triple Triad used to be my favorite part of the game last time I played it.

    Turn a couple of Bombs into cards (Fire Cavern) and you'll be fine. They're really good early on until you steal the running kids cards. You can learn it from Quetz, iirc.

    The PC version is apparently capped at 15 fps for videos and 30 fps for the game itself, I'd assume every version of the game runs like shit.

    Seems like all they've really done is polish up the character models and decided that's good enough.

    Correct, game designed on "shitty" frame rate continues to run on "shitty" frame rate

    I pretty sure they would of tied game elements to the frame rate back then.

    I beat a Quistis Trekkie or w/e a few times and got the lvl 5 monsters. After that just go around collecting high level cards and its super easy.

    This is really minimal work done to the 2013 steam release. I understand the $20 pricetag.
    Facelift to only the character models; battle, menu, and triple triad UI; menu portraits (e.g. weapons monthly articles).
    Control mapping is now done entirely outside the game UI.

    Albeit the characters look excellent now, they did nothing to the world map, nothing to background textures, nothing to the scaling of the CGI cutscenes, nothing to sound quality. No work was done on the core game whatsoever.
    SE was capable of delivering something like this on a low budget like 10 years ago. What the fuck. At least the mod community will build on this now.

    I felt weird stepping out the door before I felt I was finished. But, I fianlly got my break. I found a 3rd chick at the entrance, sometimes she's there, sometimes she's not. gave me a couple of cards that gave me the break I needed quick. Win rate turned out real quick after that. Ended up getting every single Rank 1-4 card, all but 1 Rank 5 card, and a Mini Mog and Quistis cards before I stepped out the gate. I think I have my start.

    The backgrounds have been touched up slightly but it is so difficult to notice its easy to mistake that they haven't done anything.
