Weird that they kicked Bolton out and then tried to use his playbook
They're not even doing a very good job at it. They killed some general most of us never heard about until after he got drone striked.
I am told he was good at his job.

We just fucking did it again.

On Sunday, President Trump’s most senior national security advisers joined him at his Mar-a-
Lago resort in Florida, where Trump was beginning the second week of his holiday vacation. The officials told reporters that U.S. F-15 Strike Eagles had just attacked Iranian-sponsored militia groups at their bases in Iraq and Syria, in response to a series of rocket attacks that had culminated in the death of an American contractor two days earlier.
But privately, a different topic had come up with an agitated president: whether to kill Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, whom military leaders described as responsible for the attack of an American citizen and likely to kill more.
Why Trump chose this moment to launch the idea of an operation against the leader of Iran’s Quds Force, after tolerating Iranian aggression in the Persian Gulf for months, was a matter of debate within his own administration. Officials gave differing and incomplete accounts of the intelligence they said prompted Trump to act. Some said they were stunned by his decision, which could lead to war with one of America’s oldest adversaries in the Middle East.
Maybe trying to distract from the honestly terrible news cycle that didn't quite take hold about all the internal emails regarding the (basically) illegality of the Ukraine delay.

Per NBC analyst Rukmini Callimachi's military sources, the evidence against Soleimani that Trump used to justify his strike was "razor thin." Originally what Trump had was enough for the strike against militant targets last week, but after the U.S. embassy was stormed, he demanded that Sole be killed. The U.S. did not know that the Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis was with Sole at the time of the attack, but have justified his death by labeling him an Iranian proxy.
American intelligence has intercepted plans by Iran to use cyber attacks against U.S.-controlled oil interests and against individual diplomats and personal. There is also talk of attacking soldiers embedded with Shia militias who are fighting ISIS and attacking U.S. interests in the UAE and Bahrain.
What's the answer? 50 times?
Why would that even matter? Most Americans can’t even name their own congressional representatives.
It's one thing to poke the bear, it's another thing to poke a bear that you know is irrational and did a drone strike hit on your leadership and threatens war crimes on Twitter. But, sure. Fire up the centrifuges I'm sure it's fine.

I was expecting this to happen eventually.
