I know it says the 10th but don't games release on Tuesdays?

No.
That's a US thing. Worldwide releases are fridays.
Kind of funny, and I almost wonder if this isn't intentional to spite P5R.
Remember when XV was "delayed" in Japan in a likely effort to not go h2h against Persona 5? Different market, yes. Though now that VIIR is being pushed back and it bumps up against the global P5R release is a little poetic.
I find it hard to believe that SE would delay a release because of P5R. It's not a new game. I could understand them delaying a game for a big release like P5/P6, as movies will move release dates around other big releases
eh as the man said a delayed game is eventually good, take as much time as they need to polish it up was a mess of lazy releases in 2019 that needed months of post-launch support to get playable.
They aren't polishing shit. Sony has a year exclusive on it and paid SE to push it around.
Apparently? It's not confirmed?

We know Sony is paying major money to have timed exclusives (FFVIIR for a year and GTA VI for a month). Why wouldn't they pay a little more to shift things around? Are they lining them up for specific reasons? To get into fiscal quarters/years? Just for their events (we know Sony is skipping E3 again)?
Wait. GTA VI has been announced?
If 2020 is the launch for PS5, I believe that is when they generally dump a lot of R&D costs. Then you have marketing, selling the console at a loss, etc. Sony using more $ to move VIIIR anywhere but as a PS5 multiplat launch title makes little sense, whether SE would let them or not.
Considering SE's clusterfuck of a development process and their history, not to mention the roller coaster this title has been on since both the official announcements and then the re-official announcement moving it in-house, this probably even has one more 2-3 week delay to it before retail. And then probably a Day 1 patch on top of that.
tbh I think most of us thought the initial release date was pretty ambitious, so I don't think this should really be a shock.
In any case it's only a single month, which is nothing in the grand scheme of game delays.
I prefer they delay it if they think they need more time to make a better product.
SE at this point needs to recover their reputation after a string of releases that have been absolutely fucked at launch. They NEED to not fuck this up. They know it.
only SE would do a thing such as this:

Man tinfoil hat here but I really get the impression they do not have the stock to fulfill orders. This preorder process is weird.
That does seem to be likely...it would be funny if the game got delayed not because of polish but because of having to run more physical pre-orders to meet demand.
You dont need to re-confirm if you pre-ordered through amazon.
SE store is so fucking stupid
