One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows will feature three-versus-three battles, where players can form powerful teams using their favorite characters as they fight in a universe where attacks from powerful villains are the norm. Players can take the role of Saitama, a salaryman-turned-hero who can obliterate the strongest foes with a single punch. Players will also be able to play as other fan-favorite characters such as Genos, Hellish Blizzard, Speed-o’-Sound Sonic and Mumen Rider.

Wouldn't be surprised if this followed in the same vein as all those PS2/3 era DBZ 3-D arena fighters, where the Story mode dragged you through full arcs of the show canon.

So while I agree Boros' appearance at the end could easily mean, "Hey, look everyone, we put a villain in it," it could also indicate what portion of the plot is going to be covered in whatever "Story mode" this thing delivers.

Well, in the trailer it does show him being attacked and not flinching even a little bit lol. Imagine having a "Canon" story mode where you legit just one shot every boss. That'd be pretty great.

Today’s trailer displays One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows’ Free Battle Mode where players will fight in teams of up to 3 characters. The goal will be to defeat each enemy combatant, whilst selecting the right character at the right time to stand as the victor.

In order to harness Saitama’s insane strength, the game will also introduce a unique concept in this mode – The Hero Arrival System.

Players will have to meet a number of criteria if they want to play as the strongest hero. In order to make Saitama selectable, they will need to choose two fighters first. When the fight begins Saitama’s team will have to survive until his arrival despite the numerical disadvantage. Combos or perfect guards will remove time on the counter. When the Caped Baldy finally enters battle, one punch should be enough to pacify any situation!

Three additional characters have also been confirmed to be part of the final roster, respectively 2nd, 3rd and 4th of the S-class ranking:

• Terrible Tornado: An Esper wielding psychic powers capable of crushing displays of power.

• Silverfang: Beneath his old man appearance lies a seasoned martial art expert.

• Atomic Samurai: He is regarded as Earth’s best sword master and one of the strongest heroes, even within the S-rank class.

Closed Beta November 1-3

In One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows players will get the chance to create their own custom-made avatar and experience their personal legend! While constantly training and completing various mission, you make your way up through the Hero Association ranks. Even in the midst of the battle, players will always have to be on the lookout for random events that will spice up the battle. These special events will range from supervillain interferences to asteroid crashes.

We are also happy to announce the closed beta for One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. From the 1st to the 4th of November players will be able to get a first taste of the game, joining the lobby and fighting against other player or A.I. controlled characters. Fans will be able to claim their code from the 30th of October, as long as they are member of the Ep!c loyalty program. Subscribe here! Learn hero skills and complete missions as a pro hero in the Hero Association and climb the ranks to become an S-Class hero in the main story, based on the first season of the One Punch Man anime! Players can also battle with powerful characters such as Metal Knight, Stinger, and Melzargard in over-the-top clashes true to the One Punch Man world!
