Habs have the 11 mil to work with still, which includes the cushion. The real issue would be if they signed someone in those 7 days, AND Carolina matches, then the Habs have to sell someone for pennies on the dollar to get under the cap.

I like the trade, Barrie is a legit top pair RHD that we sorely need. I'll like the trade a lot less if we can't re-sign him though. And Kerfoot is good but I'm a bit worried we may not be able to sign him, either.

Interesting times to be sure. I'll miss Kadri. For all his warts he wore his heart on his sleeve every night. Can't really ask for much more from a guy. And what a contract.
