Breaking: Golden Knights looking at trade options for Nikita Gusev
A source told The Athletic the sides are far apart in negotiations, and Vegas could deal the Russian star if they can’t fit him under the cap.
Hurricanes to confirm today they will Match the habs hostile offer
Finally recovered enough from Canada Day to respond to Canucks signing.
Myers signed for less then reported and for less term AND is not expansion protected. I'm cautiously positive about the signing. Benn signing was a good one in response to letting Hutton walk. Rumour is Toronto may sign him, probably not now that they got Barrie.
I'm still not thrilled with the JT Miller trade. We're basically forced to push for the playoffs this year simply because the lack of protection of the 1st round pick goes to 2021 is too dangerous.
I hope the Canucks are able to push for a playoff spot, the pacific division is looking kinda trash right now so they got a chance. But man....
I think that's what RDS/French media have been calling the offer sheet. Dunno why.
Leafs sign Kerfoot to a 4 year extension, 3.5M AAV. That's a pretty nice deal. 1M cheaper than Kadri's was.
I'm curious, how are you guys keeping Marner with what looks to be 3.7m in cap space? (unless I'm missing something)
Is it expected that a few people are getting traded?
Just wondering what TOR fans think is the plan.
edit: wait, I guess Cap Friendly subtracts LTIR from the Caps Space until you actually go over, so that means you guys have like 9m+~?
CapFriendly doesn't count LTIR until you actually go over, and it's also currently counting like 26 players on the Leafs roster. We're going to be sending down at least 3 guys, probably 4, so their hits all come off the cap as well. I think right now we have a shade over 10.5M in space when you account for those things, with the Ceci extension included.
Edit: I also expect that Ceci deal to be front-loaded with bonuses which will make it pretty easy to trade to a team looking to hit the floor should they need to get out of it early/at the deadline.
Bunch of teams apparently mulling the idea of offer sheeting Marner, while Montreal is also considering Laine too.
I'll believe it when I see em.
Pittsburgh signed HC Mike Sullivan to a 4yr extension (now signed through 2023-24)
MoJo to the Sabres, 2 years , 4.5 AAV
This sucks, he was one of the best playoff performers for the Bruins, going to miss him.
Glad to see MoJo getting paid
Ok, I just googled this cause of something I saw on FB. Rata's an idiot. The translation of "offer sheet" to french is "offre hostile". RDS isnt calling it a "hostile sheet".

CALCULATEUR D'OFFRE HOSTILE
Une offre hostile peut engendrer 7 types de compensation à verser.
Don Cherry finally FINALLY being let go by Sportsnet/CBC. His contract will not be renewed
Toronto fans on Tavares leaving Long Island to sign with his home city after spending 8 years there and telling the Islanders not to trade him on his expiry year when they could have gotten a kings ransom for Tavares as a rental: "He wanted to come home, thats his business and you should respect his decision for wanting to play for his home town"
Toronto fans on Leonard leaving Toronto to sign with his home city after spending one year there and bringing them a championship despite knowing full well he stated his intention before the 2019 season started that he would likely sign with an LA team when his contract is up: "BOOOOOOO HISSSSS SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE"
Amazing how that works out.
Chicago traded for the wrong Nylander.

ROFL I'll take it. We broke Nylander. Hopefully Chicago can fix him.
