It's always missing a lot, but first and foremost it's just never crispy anymore. Idk what the difference in breading or frying is, but if they can't even get that right then the rest falls apart.

When I grew up in CA there were like no Japanese restaurants but a fuckton of Chinese ones. So a lot of the Chinese restaurants had a few Japanese dishes.

One in particular were beef teriyaki skewers, which while is a Japanese marinade, don't seem to exist out here in either type of restaurant.

I miss eating those.

The edges would be crispier than getting like just a teriyaki bowl/plate.
