IPv6 is my guess
2605:a000:9304:700:7de2:d5f3:456:21b1 is a Time Warner Cable IPv6 address
As was said above, it's an IPv6 address.
Can it help the police? In theory. While it is probably a dynamic IP address, the ISP might keep records of what customer had what IP address when, I don't know US law too well here, but at least in Norway they do (and police have to get court order to view the records).
Though it's pretty weak legally, since it could be an open wifi or something like that, at least here it has been legally argued that the IP is worthless because anyone who somehow got access to a network could be behind that address.
Things I learned getting involved in Canada legal bullshit is that a court order unlocks pretty much everything about someone online. ISPs have to keep at least 90+ days records of everyone's activities and most social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc..) will give you a full record of their activities including private posts and even deleted ones too.
I imagine it's worse than that in the US.
