More families are joining Kobe's widow in suing the helicopter company.

Unlike Vanessa Bryant’s lengthy lawsuit, the new identical 7-page cases do not name the dead pilot, Ara Zobayan, or his representative, as a defendant. All the suits allege that the two companies were careless and negligent.

One suit was filed by two surviving children of Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli and his wife Keri. Their daughter Alyssa played basketball with Gianna. Another suit was filed by the husband and three children of Christina Mauser, who helped Bryant coach the girls’ basketball team

NBA reopening team practice facilities Friday where local restrictions eased, sources say

The NBA is reopening team practice facilities beginning on Friday for players in states and municipalities that are loosening stay-at-home restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic, sources told ESPN.

Players can return to team facilities in states such as Georgia for voluntary individual workouts as soon as next week, which allows for NBA organizations to start allowing players to return to training in a professional, safe environment.

Teams will remain prohibited from holding group workouts or organized team activities, sources said.

It's going to be wild when a player tests positive and everyone he played with and against in the previous week won't be able to play until they get tested so their games are postponed...and one of them tests positive, rinse, repeat

it does seem a semi-bonkers idea unless they hard-quarantine all players / coaches / team personnel at their Disney whatever the fuck compound. combat sports can get away with it since a fighter + their team only need to be cleared for a single night but a consistent schedule of competition with vastly more individuals at risk seems doomed to failure.
