One of the controllers at my previous company was fired because all the cash for Christmas bonuses went missing and they suspected it was him. The office manager left the safe open and they thought he had the opportunity to take it. There were no cameras or anything set up at the time.

Apparently he failed multiple polygraphs. I think it was about $50k.

My copy of Dragon Quest VIII is stolen. I actually stole 2 and sold one to GameStop but I had coworkers who were taking 2-5 copies of every big game we got in and doing the same. I just wanted Dragon Quest.

It does depend heavily on where you live though obviously.

Here in NC, you can get some gorgeous land and have a house built for about the same cost if you're willing to live 20/30 minutes from a major city.

I’ve been lucky and always found great property pretty fast whenever I house hunt.

Was gonna buy an amazing corner property a year or two ago in jersey with a liquor license, but ultimately backed out of it. Damn wife decided to get pregnant.

We spent about 6-8 months, made multiple offers, had a seller back out after a bunch of legwork I did, and ultimately ended up with a house we like, but know it's basically just an investment for the time being.

I'm not even sure I can look at most of these houses as an investment, realistically how high can any of these things go

Asheville is a popular area but things already seem bloated to hell

I'm not sure what the market looks like right now. I know interest rates are fairly low, maybe a bit lower than when I bought, but your investment return would entirely depend on the market in that area as you've said.
