Bravely Default 2 (NSW) - FEB 26, 2021 | Steam Edition - September 2, 2021

So for anyone that tried the demo...

1. Does this start you at the start of the game like the Octopath Traveler demo did?
2. Does your save data carry over to the full game when it's out?
3. Did they fix voice lines so they don't spam them if you use brave to attack multiple times in a row?

I played the original. I haven't played second. Is that required for this one?

Hard to know until it comes out, but so far it seems more like a Final Fantasy situation. Where there may be some things similar between the first two and this (maybe just the jobs), but possibly no plot or characters carrying over.

It seems like it's going to be standalone though I wouldn't be surprised if it does make some references to the other games given the multiverse gimmicks the other 2 games had.

How worth it is to finish Bravely Second? I was like 10 hrs in but I've more or less given up on my 3DS since then.

It's not too bad. The story isn't as repetitive as the first game though the new jobs weren't as good IMO.

But like, is it amazing enough to bother dusting off my 3DS when I've all but moved on from the system haha

I guess it depends on how much else you have to play at the moment. I do remember liking Bravely Second at the time, but I honestly don't remember much about it anymore lol. It has been a while since I played both, since I played both when they came out, but I also don't think I hated the annoying part of Bravely Default as much as other people did.

I have an eternal backlog dating back to like 2010 so I was basically trying to figure out if it was a must play game or not haha. Doesn't sound like it.

Probably not. Just play the new one as it seems to be a standalone new entry. If the backlog ever gets slow enough or you feel the itch for more, dust it off then.

The demo turned me off so I'm waiting for someone I trust to say something about it. Nobody seems to care though lol

It's more bravely default. If you didn't like the other two you won't like this one, but if you did you will. Not much else to say. Don't know why there's so much bitching about the removal of random encounters in favor of the item + overworld enemy system, I vastly prefer this.

I'm quite enjoying this so far, but job systems are definitely my weakness when it comes to JRPGs.
