Um what the fuck
Isn't Nolan the one who said he would stop making movies if people stopped going to theaters to see films??
I'm assuming this is more because of the pandemic than him actually wanting to do this.
I need this movie in full IMAX surround sound theater experience!!
Yeah, I don't get it either. I figured the ones safe to put on VOD/streaming would be family friendly stuff that people would be desperate for. To see a Christopher Nolan film like that is like unreal. How would that work? Does the studio pay Fortnite for the exposure or like, does Epic pay for the exclusivity? I don't see how the studio benefits from this.
Yeah he's pretty big on keeping the theaters alive. I get where he's coming from, but hey there's also a fucking pandemic going on. Not the appropriate time to take a stance on this issue I feel. I wanna see this movie at the theaters, don't get me wrong, but I'd be fine with them delaying this til next summer when it's safe to go back. Covid isn't disappearing by summer as much as folks want it to.

https://www.polygon.com/2020/6/12/21...uly-31-delayedHollywood continues to rethink the release schedule in a world cautiously reopening but still without open movie theaters. The latest high-profile change comes from Warner Bros. Pictures, who has shifted Christopher Nolan’s Tenet just two weeks, from July 17 to July 31.
Read they wanna re-release Inception in the mean time. Never got to see it at the movies and it's very tempting.

Just delay it till next Summer like all the others. It's not even going to make it's money back. ^^;
https://www.polygon.com/2020/6/26/21...istopher-nolanOn Friday morning, Warner Bros. announced that it is delaying Tenet’s release a second time. The film is now set to hit theaters on Aug. 12.
Also:
The re-release of Inception has been pushed back as well, all the way to July 31 — the day that Tenet was supposed to open after its first delay.
Release date now TBD:

Tbd or 2022
I keep hearing that it will still be released internationally in late August before we get it here in the US so spoilers are going to be all over the place if that happens.

The rumor is select international markets in late August or early September. WB still has yet to make anything official.

August 26th internationally, September 2nd in select cities domestically.
I really do want to see this but there is no way I am going to a movie theatre in this climate.
