If that was an accurate description of the state of his muscle he would be on the ground involuntary scream-crying without a doubt. You see it happen occasionally on the field when people just go down and start howling. That's a tear.

It was probably torn from the bone in one tiny spot which, while excruciating I'm sure, still allowed him to play. It just sounds cooler as a headline if you focus on that.

Everyone is different though. Guys have played with ribs puncturing their lungs and all kinds of crazy shit.

I remember watching Thomas Davis snap a dislocated finger back in place mid-play right before making a tackle. These dudes are not us.
