Rajang out on PC now. Time to get slaughtered.
oooh. shit. im excited to get destroyed by something other than tempered frost dragon asshole guy
Get ready for the bullshit.
Finally completed all of the limited event layered armor sets, except Kulve. Do people run the arch tempered version anymore, or is it manageable to farm at least nuggets solo now?
Gentlemen, I present to you the ultimate in glass canon builds in Iceborne. I recently created/attempted this and it's stupid lol
Now go forth and die.
So with the current meta you need to wound a monster to get 100% crit correct?
Yes
Crud. Going to have to get into a habit of that
wounding monsters increases the amount of damage you do to that part as well as increasing affinity with wex so it's pretty much mandatory
It took me a couple weeks to get into the habit of tenderizing at every available opportunity, but the health of the monsters in Master Rank is designed around the mechanic so it's essential unless you want to spend unnecessary extra time fighting.
personally i think it's a dumb mechanic. there's no satisfaction in doing it, it's just a timed debuff you need to keep up to maximize damage, but you do what you gotta do. at least slinger bursting a mob into a wall is enjoyable as well as damaging
Yeah bursting mofos into the wall is wildly entertaining, and I do enjoy the side effect of all the new clutch claw mechanics basically leading to the monsters being perma enraged, makes things more interesting with how overall easier the game is compared to most of the series.
I've had to play offline since the game came out on PC since my unit was still on deployment, and good lord the difference between solo and group play is so dramatic now. A group paying attention can basically tenderize the entire monster at once, to the point where it practically spends the entire fight staggered or knocked down.
Tenderizing definitely feels like an annoying mechanic to deal with solo, especially when I play bow and it takes a little bit more work to get stuff tenderized. It seems like a mechanic to help promote playing with other people. I just usually like getting used to monsters solo for a bit before jumping into multiplayer stuff and embarrassing myself or something lol.
As someone that plays 99% of the time solo, I agree that tenderizing can be quite annoying. It also has some sort of a snowball effect: if you can keep hitting a tenderized part consistently, the monster will enter the drooling reel state frequently enough to apply the debuff before it wears off. But if you are not good enough or have a rough time, then the debuff wears off, and then the monster takes less damage, so the next drooling reel happens later, etc.
The other thing that I quite don't like about Iceborne (which is fantastic overall) is that the guiding lands require little to no skill to progress. Since wall slamming and part wounding are the two main sources of shinies for GL specific materials, you can die a billion times and have the monster leave without killing it, that you'll only miss a few extra materials for the carve/capture. I wish the vast majority of rewards were tied to actually finishing a hunt within 50 minutes and less than 3 carts, and anything beyond that gave you a pitiful amount of resources. Just knowing that it really doesn't matter much to play better is making me quite sloppy some times.
= (
I figured Raging Brachy was gonna be one, which means maybe endgame useable Brachy weapons which I'm a big fan of cause I love the Raging Brachy designs from the older games.
Furious Rajang is kinda lame tho, was hoping more something like one of the Deviants from Generations.
Just when you thought there wasn't enough Rajang...comes...MOAR RAJANG!
ive still never fought tempered rajang yet. guess i should probably do more grinding lands
