I think every recommended meta build is 4 piece fatty now with the exception of elemental LBG (just because it's elemental cap is so fucking low it needs Safi), but the build you can make with Taroth Support is so fucking good I don't even bother with the Ala gun anymore. LBG is also the only weapon where the fatty version sucks, but Taroth Support is still so fucking good it doesn't matter

Bow and DB lose a little bit of damage going full fat, but the amount of utility and comfort you gain more then makes up for it.

I still think the Fatalis fight is obscenely overtuned, but won't lie that being able to absolutely steam roll the entire rest of the game is quite fun.

the fatalis fight would be slightly easier if you were given just another 5 minutes or so. all my kills were like 2 minutes shy of the limit and i've definitely run out of time before

i dont mind the difficulty of it considering the ridiculousness of this gear

There's also the double furious monkey quest for layered buff armor.

Sadly the armor takes 3 ticket and the quest only gave me 2

Also a couple other new quests for layered armor, I know one is a tempered blackveil

Divine Blessing + Free Meal + Fatalis armor laughs in the face of all furious Rajangs.

Furious Rajang was never difficult outside of the one zone in the ice map that extended his tremor effect.

What does Free Meal have to do with it though?

I slotted Free Meal level 3 into a few of my builds where I had no more really useful skills to add, it's fucking great.

Doesn't it just save you potions though? Outside of maybe getting more uses out of life powder without carrying mats for more, can't imagine how that would help much at all.

Edit: unless it's wide range SnS, obv.

I probably have a different feeling about potions because I play lance a lot, but I use them so rarely I have literally more than I could ever use at this point. I just leave my garden set to the mats for elemental ammo and go collect when I get tired of seeing that it's full lol.

I also use LBG a lot, but since I use Safi set with it I never use potions on it either.

I'm torn on how Safi is no longer the best option for non elemental bowguns. The set bonus was really nice for keeping health up and healing augment is so bad for not normal/sticky bowguns. Really nice with Taroth Support tho, which is my favorite LBG along with Aquashot

I only use LBG for elemental RF anyways. Sticky feels lame to use (and is pretty mediocre DPS honestly), and anything that takes significantly more damage from raw I just use lance/IG/CB/HBG usually. Definitely tend to default to lance/LBG mostly though, not sure why.

Oh yeah with steamworks it's fucking impossible to run out of healing items now.

It's mostly just a nice little bonus, like basically everything else going on with the fatty armor.
