some notes on the CBA today:

the nflpa executive committee voted 6-5 to NOT accept the new offer. it is expected to not pass the full vote later

rumors are nfl execs are saying this is a take it or leave it offer, and are prepared to deal with a lockout/strike next year if the players do not accept

definitely bullshit. the amount of money owners would lose out on would be huge and sports strikes always hurt future viewership. once people get in the habit of not watching a sport, they stop watching the sport.

    yes

also, something else i saw about the 17th game schedule: the owners proposal was to add the 17th game, but to cap salaries for that game at $250,000 for now while salaries/salary cap numbers get figured out. basically, the 17th game would be a huge pay cut

people are saying anyone making less than 4m per year loses money, but that misses the point that it :caps: at 250k, and most players would probably make significantly less for the game

there is no reason for the players to vote for this, lol

Ah, my favorite takes. Joe Schmo comparing his job as a plumber to playing in the NFL.

The players will fold, they always do.

NFLPA is weak as shit and everyone knows it.

Owners have all the leverage. Players will always fold after some pretend "back and forth". Most of these players cannot miss a season of paychecks. They aren't all paid like JJ Watt.

Average career is 3.3 seasons. The very well paid players would be asking a majority of the players to forfeit 30% of their careers' salary for the benefit of the future. Human beings just don't work this way.

I'm surprised the NFLPA is so bad that they couldn't even get weed off the table.

check the rights section in the pics posted. they didn’t get it off the table, but the restrictions have been lowered considerably, including no suspensions based only on usage

NFL 2020 Off-season Thread: Kool-Aid Man Gets His Ring

To my understanding they lowered the weed restriction like they did with MMA. As in you’d have to be smoking while giving the test itself to piss hot.

Something retarded like 5000ng/ml being the cutoff.

    EDIT: nvm 150
