No right handed guitarist would willingly play left handed.

Tbh no left handed people should play left handed either, it just makes finding a guitar more of a hassle and is generally substantially more expensive. A custom guitar I own was like a $400 upcharge to get made left handed, and that company won't even offer left handed versions anymore cause it's too much of a pain.

I personally know guys who play lefty that are right handed. It made more sense to them when they picked up a guitar to fret with their dominant hand. No different from me being right handed but playing hockey left handed. It just felt more natural to me.

There's no rules when it comes to fretting that say "must use off hand!"

Also, a custom guitar isn't custom if you have to pay more for lefty. All you're getting is custom hardware and maybe a paint job, which you could do on your own anyway.

I don't own and will likely never own the kind of equipment needed to accurately (i.e. proper intonation) install frets.

Electrical work, bridges, tuners, nuts and all that shit is np and I've done it myself for years, but fretwork is damn near impossible without the right equipment.

My point was your custom guitar isn't custom. It's just a prefab with whatever hardware you wanted. If a company makes legit custom guitars there's no additional time or materials required for a lefty.

Any company that will not make leftys or charges more is poopnuts.

Oh absolutely, I never play the thing anymore. It was a fun purchase years back when I had a massive amount of money to burn, but these days it's just an opportunity to flex on any lefties I run into.

My favorite guitar for the last couple years is PRS SE that I replaced all the hardware/electronics on. Can pull damn near any sound I want out of it.
