They had my wife and the other chefs call their staff members last week to tell them not to worry, that they would be paid in full during the pandemic and that everyone's job was safe. She quit when they refused to provide anything in writing, which I thought was insane to do at the time given the circumstances. Apparently she was right.

Correct and that was a huge...we'll say, discussion, between us. They ended up sending her an email thanking her for her years with the club and paid her a $5k severance check. Feels like hush money.

She already got hired by another company to do menu designs, so it worked out in the end.
