We're only seeing my dad, step mom, and brother this year. My step mom said she wanted to go out to a restaurant on Saturday rather than do something at either our house or their house.

I had to call my dad to explain that we're not bringing a toddler to a restaurant. She doesn't even sit at our dinner table for more than 15-20 minutes, she's too young to wear a mask, and we don't want her wandering around a restaurant.

I grew up in Wichita, and my sister lives in Overland Park but I live in Colorado. I follow news about and care about KS and when I moan bout its positivity rate it's done as a Kansan of sorts still. We (my family) usually visit each other one way or another--enough to feel content about family time, but yeah, not this year.
