Capped happiness for me is having seized all the world's wealth and means of production and bending humanity to my whims but a 4 bedroom house is cool too.

i have everything i need to be happy and successful. whew
now i just gotta create the right neural pathways and such
I totally agree with this. I grew up with divorced parents. My mom lived a very normal life, while my dad is fairly well off. I never really considered him happier in any way.
The way I see it, happiness is a balance between being able to work with something you don't hate, make enough to not have to worry about the basics and a little more and having time to enjoy life. And none of that matters, if you're not healthy.
Not having to worry about money is nice, but yeah there is a point of diminishing returns. I'd work for significantly less at a job I like. Wife and I would be doing the exact same shit we're doing now if we made significantly less money.
except you'd have to vacuum your own house
lmao
Demo are you and your wife both leaving for work? You said little man started day care and I was curious.
I’d sooner drive the four hours to NYC to drop my son off at my moms than to trust daycares. Years of working SVU cases has fucked up my perception of them.
I was under the impression that statistically center-based daycares were the safest environment for little kids (compared to home with nanny or hone-based daycare).
That may have just been for deaths though.
Childminders and nannies in the UK are regulated and watched hawkishly. It's so ingrained here that anyone earning under 50k GBP automatically earns child care credits.

Just make sure they aren't doing any laundry there

Making my way across the country to my next unit, and man I legitimately did not realize how bad some of these states are about requiring masks.
Idaho/Utah have signs up at every business saying masks are mandatory, but I've only seen employees and myself wearing them, no one else gives a single fuck.
Utah was founded on the principle of fuck you centralized government
Idaho ain't surprising either the cowboy west in general is very Clint Eastwood in outlook

should have stuck w your gut trump
article written before you were supposed to wear a maskAt the end of February and early March, Trump had become fixated on masks. He was annoyed that the government was telling people not to wear them and would angrily ask scientists and health officials in private why — if they don’t help — do doctors wear them?
Extremely baffling that they were so fixated on the medical PPE supply noone thought about just, ya know, having people make them.
It’s been what? 4-5 months now since the quarantine started. How the hell do the host of these zoom/Microsoft teams meetings still not know to mass mute everyone to prevent these stupid sound feedbacks from people pretending to be there?
