Early access popped up for me for this. Christ, as if it wasn't enough having Trails to Azure and 5.55 so close together

Well I'm dumb, this wasn't early access but closed beta. If I had noticed earlier I wouldn't spend so much time on this haha
Got an email saying I could download the preorder, but can’t actually do anything until the game launches sometime today (28th) either in the afternoon/evening PST.
It's up.

Im mixed on it. I'm not a fan of the combat at all, its another one of those auto-battlers where your only input is using skills when the timer comes up and that kind of stuff just... well its not fun and I feel like I have absolutely 0 impact on the flow of battle and slapping the auto button comes with the same results, don't feel I can inject any flavor or strategy into battles. Its like combat is a window dressing gear check and nothing else. Looking at the models and combat itself, heck you can even walk your character around the arena even though it does absolutely nothing and you cant even dodge enemy attacks (Again, you have 0 impute outside of pushing the skill use button), I dont see why this couldnt have had a battle system similar to the Star Ocean: Anamnesis mobile game, and it would have felt so much more satisfying and just include the auto-battler as an option for when you dont have time and focus/want to run on auto. I cannot stress enough how boring the combat is, it’s basically just a story on wheels.
On the other hand, the story and presentation is compelling, the voice acting is good, and the art style is appealing enough to keep me going for a bit, I just don't know how long it'll last til the non-interactive and dull combat turns me off to it and I get bored and move on.
A positive I can note about the Gacha side, the Weapon and Character draws are one in the same. Weapons grant characters like the Valkyrie Profile game, so while the rates are Low/middling for 5* (2%), you dont have to double dip ala something like Genshin Impact.
I feel the same about the combat. I did it manually for a few battles then just switched on auto and did something else while it was being played out. It’s not like DFFOO where you have to plan out your moves in advance and hence it’s boring.
Visually it’s great though it does make my iPhone feel like the sun when it’s been played for a while.
Anyone know what time zone the guerrilla battles are in? It just gives times which is not really helpful.
Got a pop up at 10pm CST saying one was active. Hope you can figure it out from there.
Did everyone stop playing that other Yoko Taro waifu gambler? That died out super quick so wondering if i should bother with this one.
If you're talking about Sin O Alice or whatever, I think I played it for about a week and this game is extremely similar combat wise, except in 3D, but I think the Story and art and everything else is so far much better.
The story art and non-combat stuff is all great in this game... the combat is just bland. I was hoping it would be something more like Punishing: Gray Raven or Genshin... oh well. Hell even the MHA gacha had better combat.
And it's dying:

Can't say I'm surprised considering how quickly I got bored of it. Don't think I turned it on after the first day, combat was dogshit boring.
Story is cool if you like the nier universe. Not essential IMO, but you can clear it all without gacha. I started 3mo back and it took me maybe a month to get through everything, so don't wait too long.
Use auto party builder, auto battle mode, and fast forward. Don't bother learning the mechanics and just play for the free 20hr story.
