Man, it's fucking scary how badly drugs and shit will change someone. Person I knew from high school posts an update for the first time in months on facebook, apologizing for ghosting everyone and goes through their last several months, which includes addiction problems, homelessness, bedbug infestation, staph infection, etc.

She then after posts a picture of herself, and dear fucking god. Sunken cheeks, what looks like acne scabs, sunken eyes. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if she's dead by the end of the year unless she can seriously turn her life around.

Had a similar experience happen to me two years ago. Heart dropped, no shit wanted to cry in front of her. Have no idea if she's still alive anymore.

i ran with a druggie crew in high school and it is always deeply sobering (heh) to see or interact with those who never escaped it. not a whisper left of the person i knew, in some cases loved

Most of the friends I had in high school that were on drugs died from using them within 10 years.

I see the same with patients. One day they just stop showing up and all you can do is hope it's because they sobered up.
