Marry that with the average starting salary being anywhere between 38-50k annually and you get what you’re seeing today.

I was walking through one of the whitest neighborhoods in the north side of Chicago this weekend and went through a park packed to the brim. A cop car patrolled through and I heard the bro-iest "boos" I've ever heard. These guys have never been oppressed by the police in their life and I laughed hard. That being said the Chicago police force has a terrible track record.

A Minneapolis, MN officer has killed a suspect who was in custody by pressing their knee into the man's throat while subduing him. The man would have been charged with forgery.

The officer who applied the knee to the neck, Derek Chauvin, has had at least 12 complaints with no discipline and was involved in three shootings over his 19 year career. He has a side career as a realtor. He is currently being represented by the same lawyer who repped Jeronimo Yanez (the incident that game this thread it's subtitle).

The other officer in the video, Tou Thao, has been with the department since 2012 and cost the city of Minneapolis a $25k settlement for beating a suspect while they were in custody.

In 2017, Lamar Ferguson sued Thao and another officer, Robert Thunder, for excessive use of force. According to the lawsuit, Ferguson and a woman who was eight months pregnant were walking home when Thao and Thunder stopped and searched them without cause. The officers handcuffed Ferguson, and Thao threw him to the ground and began punching him, while Thunder kicked him, according to the allegations.

The officers took Ferguson to the hospital for medical treatment. Afterward, they escorted Ferguson to jail wearing only his underwear and T-shirt, rejecting hospital staff's requests that he be allowed to fully dress, according to the complaint.

In a deposition, Thao said they arrested Ferguson due to an outstanding arrest warrant. He said he only punched Ferguson after one of Ferguson's hands slipped out of the handcuffs.
