A Minneapolis, MN officer has killed a suspect who was in custody by pressing their knee into the man's throat while subduing him. The man was guilty of forgery.

Police said they were called to the 3700 block of Chicago Avenue South at about 8 p.m. Monday on a report of a forgery in progress.

Officers were told the suspect was nearby and sitting in a car.

“He was ordered to step from his car. After he got out, he physically resisted officers,” police spokesperson John Elder said in a statement. “Officers were able to get the suspect into handcuffs and noted he appeared to be suffering medical distress.”

Video posted on Facebook, apparently shot by a bystander, showed an officer kneeling on the man’s neck beside a police vehicle.

“I cannot breathe. I cannot breathe,” the man said.

The man, who was not identified, was taken by ambulance to HCMC where he died a short time later, police said. The name of the officer seen kneeling on his neck wasn't immediately released.

Honestly, from my time working at the jail, the easiest cops for me to deal with were the ones who were former military. Worst ones to deal with were the older ones who didn't know what the fuck they wanted to do so they became a cop to get a good pension. Had one asshole who used to think because he had a badge, he was my supervisor. Didn't end too well for him when I dressed him down verbally in front of his co-workers, then reamed him again in front of his Sergeant.

The job itself isn’t going to attract a ton of stellar individuals when 95% of the precincts in the country only require a high school diploma and eight weeks at Camp Anawanna.

Marry that with the average starting salary being anywhere between 38-50k annually and you get what you’re seeing today.
