Anecdotal but a guy I knew in HS that was a genuine dick to everyone and a bully for the years I knew him...now is a police officer in my old stomping grounds back in Cali.

I know not all cops are like this of course, but man...a decent amount of em I feel are. They were either themselves throughout school until they got out and needed to find a way to still show off their small dick energy in another environment.

GED will get you in, but if that's all you got, you're going to be on the bottom of the list of recruits or you're going to have to go to a smaller agency. One I worked at if you didn't have a bachelors or a military background, your odds of getting picked were extremely low.

the 40% DV figure isn't the strongest, dearth of data and all that, but it does lend your guess/joke a frightening aura of credibility. i'd imagine the "pick fights and shoot people when you immediately get owned" has a lot of overlap with the wife-beating crowd.

maybe the guy deserved a bullet in the head idk but it's not some 17 yo kids place to put it there, thats reserved for parents of victim

it appears that kid shot him and that's definite murder, the events after that idk, do you get to claim self defense after shooting someone? they probably woulda killed the kid tho right? or at least he can easily say he thought they were gonna

This is how most should view this entire situation.

A cop or a blm supporter with a gun could have sent a bullet in that direction. Kid is lucky in that sense. He may not get first degree, but justice is coming.

My neighbor 4 houses up the block growing up was a Madison detective, he was a racist homophobic piece of shit who terrorized his son (who was my sister's grade).

They moved because he got a Chief of Police job in a small town somewhere.
