Also talked with a co-worker who just got back from having the virus. Said he lost 25 lbs the first week. Confirmed it sucks ass. Told me not to fuck around and wait to go get tested and check in to a hospital. Doc told him had he waited another day he wouldn't have made it.
Also said he makes some decent change from donating antibodies lol

Sounds about right. My work back when we were private used to pay a few people $500 cash for a unit of blood because of their serum. Then a few of them got greedy asking for $1500. They cut them off and the last guy standing who didn't ask for more money got bumped up to $1000.
Now in public corporate world that shit is all taxed and is a flat $150/unit regardless of what rare goodies someone has.
https://chicago.suntimes.com/coronav...6R24uwGLW_qyLEResearchers in England say they have the first evidence that a drug can improve COVID-19 survival: A cheap, widely available steroid called dexamethasone reduced deaths by up to one third in severely ill hospitalized patients.
The drug was given either orally or through an IV. After 28 days, it had reduced deaths by 35% in patients who needed treatment with breathing machines and by 20% in those only needing supplemental oxygen. It did not appear to help less ill patients.
A drug that reduces the strain on hospitals is essentially a best case scenario right now.
Noooo my august prediction is in peril!

Literally the most common drug used in an ICU but yea pretty sure we're already doing this.

Not commonly used outside of severe inflammatory lung disease or brain inflammation because it fucks up your endocrine system if you use it too long.
Edit: I should clarify it's more commonly used to diagnose adrenal disorders, cortisol and prednisone are more widely used.

Just found out that my step-grandmother got COVID-19 and is in the Emergency Room where her O2 saturation dropped down to the mid 80's. She was in assisted living and they tested everyone and found that 1/3 of the residents had COVID-19. She is in her 90's and I think we all had that concern considering how this disease spreads but I was really hoping that it wouldn't happen.
Should hook her up with some dexamethasone
Hey Tyche, I know you have access to those research databases...anything new on antibodies and immunity? I havent heard jack on either after all those false positives were identified and it seemed like reinfections actually weren't a thing.
