better than the rona, but damn man.
Why does it seem all the new Coronavirus hotspots are in states that reopened early, and people piled into bars during memorial day?
Why does it seem like the states that had huge protests haven't seen a Coronavirus spike? The protests have been going on for 3 weeks now?
Illinois is the poster child for doing it right, apparently. Finally I am proud of an Illinois governor...my word I didn't think I'd ever use those words in a sentence!
With that said, some cautious reopening of outdoor seating venues has begun and bars are now opening for outdoor seating- should be an interesting few weeks to see where that leads us.
We already know where it'll lead. A spike in every category; cases, hospitalizations, deaths. Then a barrage of sadposting about how terrible this is and how badly _____ mishandled it.
This is reality now. We lost our chance months ago to have anything other than a worst case outcome. Give up, come back next year.
Be careful with that, cause most people are asymptomatic and while 2 weeks might not be enough for an appreciable increase now, exponentially by say late July early August you might start to see large florida numbers
Especially as it starts heating up and we start blowing the AC constantly in every building

Boss is going to be back in the office end of the month. He doesn't believe we'll be going in til late July/Early August. Though who knows if that'll change if things heat up by then.
I really hope a vaccine is close to being done.
Well, Fauci is rather optimistic.
I don't have any hopes for the remainder of the year, but I think we'll see something at the very least to placate the public by winter.
Welp, he hasn't spoken to Trump in 2 weeks
https://twitter.com/CNN/status/1272959659964596225
He says the US is still in the middle of the first wave
https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1273079194340057088
And apparently he's a big part of the "Medical Deep State"
https://twitter.com/HuffPost/status/1272797702556975104
But yeah, I'm sure he's optimistic with how things are happening in the US and not just pretending to be so because of who he currently works for.
And Florida right now? Jeeeeeeeeeeez

Ill just leave this here, EU vs US coronavirus graph.
Also bonus fact: EU has 446m people vs 328m for US.
oopsy daisy
Timely total lockdown to tackle the huge numbers with a single blow was an effective strategy. Healthcare-wise, COVID is more manageable and causes less panic with low/controllable numbers.https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comm...d_covid_cases/

It also helps that politicians on this side of the atlantic values peoples lives over self serving greed for the most part. When they saw what was happening they quickly moved to close down all non essential travel and do what was necessary to choke it out (UK being the exception doddled for over a week after Ireland locked down and they overtook italy as the worst in europe).
