CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

The series will premiere in 2022.

This was much better than I could've anticipated. Short and sweet, but gives off the best atmosphere from the games and expands a bit.

Honestly my experience of the game was a bit sour due the main story falling off near the end, but the anime kinda rekindled what I thought was the best part of the game which is the city and the people in it. Definitely gonna have to give the game another run through soon.

I think the idea (or I'm reading too much into it) is that there is no burning the city down, it's too damn monolithic and insulated by the megacorps, the city will never be consumed only those burning against it

Edgerunners occurs before the game and the stories are basically entirely unrelated outside of both occurring in Night City and some side characters appearing in both.
