God damn. This God Highschool anime just went from a routine traditional martial arts anime with gorgeous animation to full blown DBZ/Bleach/JoJo levels of ridiculousness lol. Just finished episode 7 lol.

The pacing in most the episodes was awkward but the fight scenes are beautiful and thats what i’m here for:

I enjoyed the fights, but not so much "insert mandatory story/flashback out of nowhere". I had a sneak peek of what lies ahead and it becomes galaxy level I think lol

GoH is more loosely based on Journey to the West than DBZ so it's way more ridiculous in that aspect. Having kept up with the manwha, it just gets astronomically nutty.

The anime is moving at breakneck speed though and skipping a lot of material which is only hinted at in a quick flashback or outright skipped.

God of High School's anime felt like it needed to be double the amount of episodes for the story they told. Felt like they just skipped over most of the story to show fights. The fights were great and all, but it mostly just made me want to read the actual manhwa (which I'll probably start pretty soon).

Oh I thought that was just a thing for the end of the anime, so he uses it as his primary thing throughout?

It's not the primary thing but Mori's past heavily borrows from it which is used as a base for crazy shit that's happening outside of the tournament though those story beats won't show up till much later.

Forgot they made another Higurashi. Made the mistake of thinking “I’ll just watch one episode and go to bed”. It’s now 5 am.

God damn I love this anime series so much. I’ve been a fan of it for like the last 12 years. I think I might get a tattoo of it. I only have my One Piece so a second one would be nice.


Also. I realize I’m very late on a lot of anime. I just binged Charlotte and I greatly enjoyed that aswell. Really been liking the dark and fucked up anime. Between that, Higurashi, Magical girl site, and a few others.

Not sure if people here don't like it or it's actually being slept on, but Jujutsu Kaisen has been awesome so far. Definitely one of the best animes this year if you like Shounen stuff. The OST has been great too.

MAPPA has been tearing it up with the animation, so I can't wait to see what they do with AoT's final season.
