Not at all. I don't even have a problem with anything that the devs did in relation to Suikoden. My annoyance is directed at the AAA landscape in the late 00's to just abandon any genre that wasn't making lootbox or mobile microtransaction millions under the justification of "its not a genre that's popular anymore." Whether a game sold well, but didn't make infinite money, or sold poorly (usually due to making the most recent game shitty, like just about everything that came out of EA at the time), it was dumped to cash in on that mobile/lootbox profit.

What a strangely specific number. 100 characters is quite a lot, but who knows what mysteries could be hidden within the campaign’s stretch goals. Wouldn’t it be cool if the campaign even allowed for backer participation in determining additional characters?

I am fully expecting to be playing this and then randomly reaching somewhere and hearing a familiar "A-choooo!"

If there is any character that deserves a full cameo it's Viki.

(And for all we know, this could all actually be taking place in the "western continent" or something. We can always use our imaginations!)

Also, I really hate the emphasis that gets placed onto stretch goals. Just make the game you want to make. Basing the addition of "feature x" on whether you raise a certain amount of money just feels... cheap.

If I were in their shoes, I would plan on doing everything that we set out to do, and just add stretch goals as a sort of facade to drive customer engagement. But then if you don't meet a certain goal but you're doing it anyway, what do you do? I guess "Hey, we did so great, we decided to do all the stretch goals regardless!" would make for some decent PR. But it all just feels so fake and forced to me. :<

I would really hope that's the case. I get it's a part of the whole kickstarter spiel, but the concept just bugs me.
