I viewed Iraq the same way I viewed Hiroshima. At the time, America just needed to blow something up after a tragedy.

If some comments I read in the tweets are to be believed, people did want to send help (or even just go themselves to drive people) but the road had been blocked off miles back, and I guess for whatever reason, unreasonably maintained after the event ended.

Drove to MD and back to NM over past week. Route took me through OK, MO, Ohio and PA and of course tons and tons of Trump signs everywhere. I'll say I was actually surprised to see a few Biden/Harris things though.

Was pretty fun, I did the drive back from Albany to ABQ in only 2 days. South OK/Texas were insane due to the snow storm they just got with so many over turned tractor trailers and accidents along the way.
