XII is the story of why Tactics is so screwed up. Ashe broke the 12 rebellious Espers out of their prisons and banished the Occuria, which led directly into Ultima possessing Ajora and destroying Ivalice a century later, sending it back to medieval times.

Curious to see how they fuck them up for XVI since we haven't had a good one since XII. Given the fantasy'ish throwback look to some designs in the trailer it'll probably be flying mole rats again (like XIV) to adhere to the classic moogle look.

Yeah, the FFIX guy left mid-way due to a "health emergency," which was probably just burnout/stress and it was taken over by someone that hadn't directed before (who went on to be the UX designer for XIV, decidedly not a promotion).

Be prepared to hear some weeb saying KEWPOOH over and over again. I'd rather they just play their moogle cry we're more familiar with if they ever want to throw that effect in their speech. Ever since VA were added and the actors doing that has made me less and less like moogles.

Most of the Holy Sword skills are in there as well. Stasis, Crush Punch, Split Punch, Night Sword, Lightning Stab, Icewolf Bite, Blastar Punch, Holy explosion and maybe one or two others.

Cid uses some, Algus' fight uses some and Agrias' fight uses some. When I saw that Pld got Confitier I was getting all hype that they were gonna eventually take Pld down the Holy Knight route of giving them finishers that were Holy Sword Skills.

XIII-2's mog (and WoFF in respect) was insufferable due to audibly saying the word every goddamn sentence. I also just prefer the noises they make in the various games having kupo be the associated spelling of it.
