I had every intention of playing this (again) but there are just too many games in my backlog.
Going back to Freedom on the PSP, I think this title might actually have the worst monster hitboxes I've seen in the series. Every monster has moves with vertical hitboxes that are full of big Plesioth hipcheck energy.
Damn, Valstrax is no joke and I'm starting to feel doing it online is pointless, people just wipe on the big divebomb.
Edit: Of course moaning online helped me kill it with the next group
I'm HR97, going to be tackling it today I guess.
I had so many people faint in the Allmother fight and I can't understand why. With just thunder food and upgraded armor, I don't think she took off more than a third to half of my health with even her biggest attacks.
Spoiler: show
I'm convinced that people copying DPS builds from streamers and youtubers and thinking that survival is literally only a matter of "git gud" is what makes quests like this and Fatalis in IB so bad in multiplayer.
"Steadfast? Nah, bro, I got quick sharpen."
Not ironic at all that if you just do nothing and let it draw you in you're fine lol. I guess I was luckiy the first time I saw it, I was trying to get in and start setting up a Wyvern Dive with my IG anyways.
Wtf 531 defense with maxed Valstrax armor lol. Guess it's time for Apex Emergencies.

Hopefully there will be a big lineup. I don't know if it's because my only experience with MH is this and World but the core game kind of felt lacking
Rise had more monster variety then base World, they just skimped on activity variety for post game.
Maybe. Been awhile but World seemed to hold me longer. Though I think a good chunk of that was learning how to deal with Deviljho.
That reminds me I never did kill Fatalis. That fight is hell.
World had better matchmaking, and more importantly, investigations.
True. Maybe it was those small things that helped pad the length out a bit without it feeling like a grindfest for all the wrong reasons.
At least Rise doesn't have a Handler in it. Got to give them props for that.
