And Game of Thrones season 7 battle of Winterfell was in the dark. People can't see in the dark so neither could the viewer for most of an hour.
Point being, no one cares if that's the natural environment. They just care how it looks to them.

The song she's singing is also a dark/dreary song so the environment fits the song for the less than 2 minute trailer they released

I wasn't comparing them. I was quite literally saying more often people don't care beyond the end result. If it bothers them like those situations then that's all that really counts.

I thought the Lion King live action was pretty serviceable to be honest. Obviously it's never going to best the original, but was still decent in it's own right. The worst part about it was a horrendous Beyonce who delivered every line like she was caught on the way out to lunch and forced to record it right than and there. She's just a flat-out terrible actress.

I thought live action Aladdin was pretty decent as well.

Aladdin was actually pretty good and fleshed out (other than changing to the Jasmine as Sultana thing). Will Smith was decent as Genie.

Mulan and Belle were terrible and ruined the stories. Lion King was just a CGI remake of the cartoon that didn't make any sense to do.
