Can you upload that movie file somewhere? I'd love to see it, too.

I'm glad there are people working to preserve digital archives because it can so easily be just lost forever. Just out of curiosity have you worked on archiving the POL Tetramaster game? Because it's basically gone forever now except for the files on those old discs. I was watching a let's play of FF8 and I only just remembered that Tetramaster existed. Not many people cared about it but it was a historical part of FFXI and Playonline.
The only part I archived from TetraMaster would be the music files (from both the game itself and POL sections). They used to be in a thread of mine on BG, but that has long since been removed for obvious liability reasons if I am to guess.
The graphical assets were beautiful but never really had a way to read them (although that's not really an excuse for not archiving the game files, just lack of foresight). The fact that nobody did the reverse engineering research necessary to get a private server started while it was still live means that it will likely never happen in the future, unlike with XI.
I'm open to sharing the video that budd extracted if anyone has a good idea of how to go about it.
I sent a MEGA link to @Suteru so he could have it.
I'm not aware of anyone preserving Tetra Master, either.
The game files really won't do much unless there were somehow debug symbols left around that people could poke at.
I think the other PlayOnline game, Front Mission Online, also does not have a private server for it. If there is one out there, I'd be surprised.
The rest of the files on the FFXI 2008 Xbox 360 disc seem mostly useless. They are all big, proprietary .dat files (the format can apparently differ based on developer) minus a few WMVs for the character creation screen (they are of very low quality, and also, why?), and the installed files are probably not at all different from the ones that are on the PC release.
Budd, would you mind sharing with me as well?
Thanks.
Apologies for the extremely late reply.
I sent you the MEGA link that I sent Suteru. Thankfully, it's still live.
Which is good, as I don't have a PC or laptop with a DVD drive anymore, or at least easily accessible.
Hopefully 5 months later is still acceptable, lol.
Still no avail.
I'd love to make this more accessible to anyone who needs it in the future by hosting it somewhere.
Anyone else get it from budd? The link he sent me appears to be complaining about needing a decryption key - May just need to log back in and re-share it a different way.
I wish I could find my old 360 disc. Good times.
Not sure if it is relevant, but I have all of my original PC discs. I was trying to sell them alongside old PC games in a house move recently, but the store wouldn't take them.
Would they be useful to anyone?
I totally dropped the ball and moved and a bunch of stuff, I sent an updated link to anyone who PM'd me.
Sorry guys for the very very late reply and all that.
Also, really curious as to how this project is coming along.
