In lighter news.
Braden Holtby decided to drive to the border to get into Canada. He is currently stuck (due to the border being closed) and having two rare tortoises as pets (he didn't get the appropriate export permits). 2020 hits again !

It took Holtby 2 days to get his tortoises across the border, lol.

Toronto Sports Net decided to show some Habs-Leafs hockey, which gave did they pick from the hundreds of games to pick from:
February 23, 2019
Habs lose 6-3 after going up 3-0
Hmmmmm
Didnt show any game from last year (Habs won all 3), didnt show the 2019 L, didnt show the 2 games that went to OT...nope picked the game where they came back from 0-3 to win 6-3.
They had to show the one time that the Leafs weren't the ones blowing a 3 goal lead. At least that was in the reg season though
Also, Debrusk signed for cheaper than I figured, which means in 2 years he'll make bank from the B's.
2 years, 7.35M
Boychuk retiring due to an eye injury
Frees up $6m for Barzal
Theyre now 2m over the cap with 12F 5D 2G, Cirelli and Cernak to sign.
It's ok, they have 46 years to be under the cap in time for the next season to start
Great value on Sergachev. Super jealous, he would probably cost around 7 mil anywhere else. Trouba making 8 mil for the next 6 years is feeling pretty damn bad by comparison.
Speaking of defenseman with bloated contracts, Lamoriello sneaks his way out of that Boychuk nightmare and gets to pay Barzal now. Dude was 100%, publicly cleared to play next year after having eye surgery. Bloody horseshit he gets away with blatant cap circumvention.
He was the worst Canadian anthem singer anyway.

Wanted to see how long it took in the replies to a gif of him biffing on the carpet. was not disappointed
The amount of idiots condemning the firing is infuriating. The attitude of what you do on your free time doesn’t apply to a corporation, especially if you’re a public figure.
Marc has shown support for pro-life rallies a few year back as well. Dude wasn’t like by many and this is just icing on the cake. Won’t be long before Calgary signs him. A perfect fit in Alberta.

Im not a fan of cancel culture, but cancel culture implies a wave of pressure from whiny babies and the parent company bending over and firing said person.
The first I heard of him partaking in anti-mask dumbfuckery was in the news breaking of his firing.
There was no real pressure to fire him from people cause they didn't get a chance to pressure Vancouver ownership lol. Aquilini announced on twitter he was the "former" anthem singer pretty damn quick after it was revealed he was singing at the rally.
Aquilini seemed really pissed off himself that he was singing too
We’re all sheeps!
