Coyotes have renounced their rights to Miller, lol. Fuck them. They knew, defended him, got crucified for two days, and then caved.
*Kid shows up in a pair of the Marx mustache/glasses*
"Please welcome our PTO guy, Stitchell Biller"
lol
Also bracing for the Leafs to get flak because people can't read and "OMG MITCHELL MARNER IS AN ASSHOLE"
Kid pissed away a multi-million dollar career because he was too proud to say "I did some stupid things when I was younger, I regret what I have done and have apologized to him and I will make efforts to ensure this doesnt happen again to others and work to be a positive role model for the future generation"
Even if he did make that basic of a statement, I don't think many people would have bought it or accepted it. Here's what we know about him;
-He (and the other kid) have been bullying this mentally challenged black kid since the 2nd grade
-When he was caught, he got a slap on the wrist punishment (25 hours of community service), and wrote the 2 court mandated apologies. He never even attempted to apologize in person like the other kid
-According to the mom of the bullied child, even after he was caught at 14 yrs old (so you know, bullying and harassing for a solid 6 or 7 years at this point), he didn't actually stop and kept doing shit for another 2 years
-And when asked by multiple teams about it in their pre-draft interview, not only did he show an indignant attitude to being asked about it, he showed no remorse for doing it either (which led to more then a third of the teams outright choosing to never draft him)
So as far as I'm concerned, fuck this kid. He doesn't deserve shit and has not even come close to earning a second chance to redeem himself. All the idiots who are going "well, he was just 14, kids are gonna make mistakes, cancel culture strikes again" are ignoring the fact that he has been doing this shit for more then half his life and ignoring that he clearly thinks he was perfectly justified in being a terrible piece of shit. So again, fuck this kid.
Fuck him but fuck the university and fuck the Coyotes too. They all knew and they're only cutting ties now because they're getting blown the fuck up.
In a surprise to nobody, Orr loves El Donaldo Drumpf
Obviously a Nazi, better punch him in the face.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. And once again this is coming from very personal experience but the coyotes are an absolute dog shit organization and I will never support them in any way again. I live 5 minutes from their arena and I’m a die hard hawks fan. I won’t even go watch them I’ll stay home. Shit I’ll drive to Anaheim or vegas instead.
My personal problems with the coyotes go back quite a number of years but the whole thing too to bottom stinks and the culture there is shit. The only bright spot it had was Shane doan and since he left it’s worthless.
ESPN says several owners have said the NHL would be better off financially next year if they don't play at all.
https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/...ine-challenges
they would be stupid to not play.According to several sources, a few owners have suggested to Bettman that the league might be better off financially if it shuts down next season, since playing in empty arenas could be crippling to the bottom line. The NHL is still very much a gate-driven league in comparison to a league like the NFL, which draws most of its revenue from media rights. Bettman responded that the NHL can’t lose a season because it’s too damaging in the long term, as the league has learned before in lockout seasons.
Wasn't there talk of ESPN or some notable broadcaster being interested in the broadcasting rights? In the meantime, if they were smart they'd have gotten rid of all the trash that make up their NBC broadcast team.
To their credit, Sportsnet cleaned out and got rid of all the shit like Kypreos and Millard and etc. And as much as I hate to admit it, bringing in a guy like Bieksa has been really good. Not to mention other guys like Hrudey, Cassie Campbell-Pascal, Anthony Stewart, etc, to go with Ron McLean and Elliotte Friedman. And... /sigh, yeah Burkie too
Yea, ESPN is supposedly interested in NHL broadcast rights. While exclusivity deals are usually worth more, I think the NHL would be smart to go with multiple broadcast partners and try to reach as many people as possible and grow the game. Even if ESPN is a complete joke at NHL coverage, both now and before when they pretended to care.
