Stockton's durability is a massive factor when talking about where he stands in all time lists. Mother fucker played for 19 years and only missed 22 games. Paul has notably had many durability issues over the years that directly impacted his teams ability to advance in the playoffs.

only thing that saddens me is that had he not hurt his knee, cp3 probably would've gone on to be the goat PG, or at least have made it an always difficult discussion

I can't say I know how good most PGs were defensively, but remember that Stockton is the career steals leader and its not even close.

The best defensive point guard ever is Gary Payton and it's not even close.

Only PG to ever be defensive player of the year and a 9x All Defense First team

Also just realizing the fact we weren't initially bringing up Gary Payton is a travesty of which we are all guilty of.

He has a solid case of being right there with Stockton, Kidd and Robertson

Stockton was the best defender out of the ones we're talking about aye, Steph and Magic top out as bad defenders that turned themselves into above-average ones that still had serious limitations. no one bothered playing defense in Robertson's era. CP3 is good but gets by a lot of the time on reputation.

Payton is indeed the GOAT point defender but isn't in the same class as the others as either playmaker or scorer. dude could never really shoot either.

not close is not true though.

cp3 and kidd were tremendous defenders. kidd and payton were synonymous with being the best defensive PG's ever in their era.

So is Giannis the Greek hero whose hubris in opposing the Gods leads to his downfall?

    1) I said creature, more like a cyclops, than a god
    B) maybe he's a victorious hero not a tragic one

Curry played like hot fucking dogshit yesterday and probably removed himself from any of the backdoor MVP talk that had been bubbling up.

It's gonna be Jokic unless he gets injured and Embiid gets to slide back into the conversation.
