i don't know many people that rate Luka higher, but his defense is nowhere near terrible. he's improved it significantly year over year and had by far his best defensive season ever in 2021.

he has clear flaws there, the most glaring being he whines to refs rather than getting back on D which kills the Mavs' transition D 3-4 times a game (we call it the Boogie special), and he only gives so much effort on that end because of the offensive load he carries. but these takes of him being terrible defensively i assume come from those who think he still plays the way he did his rookie year. he led the Mavs in defensive win shares this year, easily, and was behind only Dwight Powell for DBPM.

If I was on the verge of NBA superstardom I would simply try harder and give good effort on every play

The Milwaukee Bucks' victory in the decisive Game 6 of the NBA Finals averaged 12.5 million viewers and peaked at 16.5 million viewers from 11:30-11:45 p.m. ET, ESPN announced on Wednesday.
Those numbers represent a 50 percent increase over last year
GIANNIS, the face of the NBA, is a much bigger draw than bad movie actor LeFraud

I’d rather us send our rising stars than deal with this horseshit

That feels like an exceptionally good deal for Memphis (Eric Bledsoe aside, who feels more like a throw in there given his play in NOLA).

Adams would work really well with that team and they get better picks for giving up the last year of Valanciunas.

Adams def gives them a lot of what they need and fits in perfectly with the culture. assume they're banking on JJJ and Morant stepping up to take over some of Valanciunas's offensive production.

New Orleans is, uh, losing salary? Val doesn't work any better with Zion in double-big lineups. that org really does suck at construction they got AD Holiday and Mirotic for a single playoff run and only as a backup plan after Boogie went down. garbage team construction every year before and since since the Chris Paul era.

Val works better alongside Zion then Adams does, but he's only got one year left on his deal. From NOLA's pov it's definitely a salary dump move to get Adams and Bledsoe off the books for the future.

Val is a better player then Adams right now, but Adams could probably do really well in the PnR with Morant so that's probably gonna end up being a net neutral for Memphis in terms of current on court production while improving their draft picks

i mean Valanciunas can't guard nobody and does his best work in the post, he's the opposite of what Zion needs in spacing / rim protection. but Adams was just as bad a fit so whatever. all in on ditching two bad contracts and swinging for the fences when Valanciunas expires / resigning Lonzo.
