    On top of the housing boom, everyone was stuck at home, so all those renos and projects that were put off for months/years finally got done with the newfound free time.

    I don't remember the 2x4s I used to reframe the wall in my shower being particularly expensive back in September but I also don't know what 2x4s usually cost lol

    wood for bathroom remodel was costing more than double what it should, boat being stuck in that canal also really made it hard to find ANY insulation for a little bit

    Jesus I need to get out of Austin. a 530k listing here = about 1500-1600 sqft, on the market for about 2-3 days before it's under contract, 25+ offers with stupid crap like a full appraisal waiver and no option period, and it will sell for 650+

    I know those realtor/zillow est are not always on point, but the last two months my house's est value went up 20k. Two homes in our area have sold (Without an open house) a day after being listed. Shit is fucking crazy.

    We bought a house in September, it's worth over 50k more already just because of material prices and market inflation. That's not including all the work we did to it.
