Clearly it's time to invest in brick, stone, or even clay.
You need to diversify your bonds.

every day i die a little more inside knowing my house is a hollow piece of shit and not a concrete bunker
my house is a hollow drywall shitbox on stilts on a hill, i feel like retrofitting would be quite costly

well this describes my foundation to a t, i guess i have another thing to do after the bathroomsIt involves houses built before 1980, but especially before 1940, that are a few steps off the ground and have a crawl space between the living space and the ground the house sits on.
The problem is the homes haven’t been properly braced and bolted to the foundation. Walls and wood beams that keep the house off the ground aren’t fastened tightly to the ground, and the lack of grip can cause the home to be shoved off the foundation
Put in your application now, they do rounds of acceptances, usually takes 6-12 months. When was the house built? If it's on stilts and piles it's probably at least somewhat to earthquake code unless it's quite old. At my current house they just bolted the cripple walls in the crawlspace to the foundation, but my old house is on a slope and they had to do an "engineered" solution where they also sheathed the cripple walls with plywood to prevent horizontal shearing. Cost like $4200 for the old house and $3300 at the new one, but got $3k of that back from the feds.
