Just finished filing and turning paperwork to a process server so I can drag my brother to small claims court.

Of course things are so backed up, the first available court date isn't until November 1st, and he has thirty days to appeal once he loses so this shit can potentially be dragged out till 2022.

I found MRI tubes aren't too bad. It's mainly the noises. Super loud and sounds like an old early 80's Atari game.

Ordered a computer chair off Amazon.

Go to open my package and realize it says “L-shaped desk” on the box then I look at the address and it’s not mine….

What do I do in this situation?? I could totally use a desk, but I really needed that chair. Mines falling apart.

Close your eyes and meditate/pretend you are sleeping. It isn't as bad as you would think. If you open your eyes it can be a little disconcerting. I had to have my brain and eyes MRI'd after an intensely bad migraine that they weren't sure if it was a migraine. The key is to not move so they don't have to start over. The MRI on my eyes was really hard because of this but other parts were not bad.

Solid advice. I spoke with my mom over the weekend and she had to do a lower back MRI last year, but required a couple valium to get through the procedure. I think I'll be just fine with my eyes closed.

Two fails this morning.

1. Bart returned to a 15 minute rotation for it's schedule. My Tuesday train still showed a departure of 7:55. Walk up to the platform, 7:55 train cancelled, have to wait for the 8:10 train.

2. Twitter randomly decided that partaking in a retweet contest from Funko will randomly get your account banned.

Back home there is a local pizza joint that is famous (in the area that is). I absolutely love their pizza and anytime we go to visit my mom we make sure to order from there.

It is a family run business and the mom, dad, and daughter have all died in the past 3 years (cancer). Restaurant is now closed and it sounds like won’t reopen. There’s no family left that wants it, and people are speculating that they may not even know where the recipes are. Sad to see such a childhood place go and sad thinking of how often I got to say hi to that family, but no more.

Tell an employee that their shoes are NSFW - open heeled slippers are a no-no on the manufacturing floors and labs.

Get admonished for telling this person sternly that their shoes are a safety violation and hurt their feelings.

Safety 4th guys. First is profit from revenue. 2nd is profit from cost savings. 3rd are production KPIs.

Sounds like your management and our upper management went to the same school of how to run a shop. Main reason the head of our reception staff took a demotion/transfer to a different program was that she was sick of being banned from disciplining staff that wouldn't do their job/cause problems for everyone else, including one that should have been fired multiple times over and I was a step away from sending home once.

It's really the pandemic fucked over any sort of culture shift that was occurring. I had to tell the manager that admonished me (more like informed me, and she isn't my direct report since our department lacks one for now) that management isn't doing safety sweeps. They have underlings do it for them and they are so lax that it's more of an exercise in futility.

Another coworker who was pretty gung ho about safety issues p much quit reporting completely because the safety officer got sick of hearing her name bringing up all the safety issues.

All it takes is a couple really expensive lawsuits and workmans comp. claims for their insurance company to tell them they need to comply or get fucked. I saw it happen at one of my old jobs. The insurance company even did regular inspections to make sure safety rules were being followed.

If you live in a state where you can record* yourself (without the other person knowing about it) having a stern conversation with a supervisor about how they should take safety seriously and tell them the stuff Zoobernut said about how serious (and costly) it could be, I'd do it because safety isn't a joke.

*CYA if they fire you or something in retaliation for bringing up safety concerns to them.

Been having trouble keeping anything down for almost three dadays. Mandatory covid test at jail was already negative Monday so not that. Spent last two days just running to the bathroom and trying to keep hydrated.

Never thought I'd be thankful to be stocked up on ramen..
