An off duty firefighter went to an Agua Dulce firestation with a gun killing one firefighter and critically wounding the fire captain.

The suspect was found dead in a pool at what is presumed to be his residence which the suspect set on ablaze. The suspect appears to have been killed by a self inflicted gun shot wound as no officers discharged any weapons.

A 6 yr old was shot and wounded by their 29 yr old neighbor. The kid was retrieving a tricycle that was left in the man's yard. The man first came at the kid with a sledgehammer, but when that didn't work, the man went inside his home to get his gun and shot the boy from inside. The man was arrested, but has since been released on a $10k bond.

The man is back in custody after his bond was canceled and raised to $100k. Took a large community outcry to make this happen.

Beyond just that though, for some people (myself included) it's hard to grasp the notion that anger should escalate to literally ending someone's life. I get that people are often shitty and emotions are irrational, but I've had my share of anger issues yet even smashing a controller/tv/drywall or whatever seems absurd to me, like mad/frustrated as I get I stop myself because it's literally not worth having to buy new shit, so escalating to "i'm going to actually murder this person" is such a foreign concept because the value of what is being lost (a human life) is so much higher, to me, that it's hard to see how people can so quickly do it. Like just because you can get away with something doesn't mean it's remotely justified or make it less alarming that other people are quick to do it.
