    If Seattle signed Dreiger from Florida to be their starter, they have no need for Price and his 10.5 mil. Its unlikely Seattle takes him and his 10.5 at that point, its more about protecting Allen.

    That would be stupid. He's an UFE, he wouldn't be obligated to sign with the Kraken, and it would constitute their pick from the Caps, with the potential of getting nothing out of it.

    Obligated no.. but what if they offer him a dump truck full of money? And as to what they would get out of it. They could probably fill their entire arena will people that just wanted to see Ovi.. and all the jerseys they would sell.

    Seattle can offer an 8yr deal if they select players who are UFA in the expansion draft

    But you also run the risk of other teams getting to talk to the UFA player if you dont select him (if they have their hearts set on him)
